Fume Hood Check List

Let's check the condition when using the fume hood.

点検項目

When entering the laboratory-----------------------

1: Opening and closing of the entrance door is heavy
2: Wind blows in when opening the entrance door
3: Wind noise can be heard in the laboratory
4: Strong odor of chemicals in the room
5: Smell of sewage water is apparent

When looking around the fume hood------------

6: The upper part of the fume hood is corroded
7: The paint around the front sash is peeled off
8: Chemicals and instruments are left inside
9: The attached electric outlet is discolored

When turning on the fume hood--------------------

10: The exhaust switch does not turn on
11: The operation lamp does not turn on
12: An alarm sounds does not stop once it stars
13: There is no indication of exhausting

When starting the experiment-----------------------

14: Opening and closing of the front sash is heavier than usual
15: Chemicals smell
16: Crystals and rust are falling
17: Strange noises or vibrations
18: Surge of water is bad
19: Decrease of gas is too fast
20: The drainage outlet is smelly

After finishing the experiment-----------------------

21: The work surface or the front part is corroded
22: Cracks due to corrosion on the inner wall surface and ceiling
23: Water droplets fall from the ceiling
24:Dust and crystals are stuck to the suction
25: The front sash glass is cloudy
